Marina Bregovac Pisk is a graduate of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, where she gained a degree in Art History and English Language and Literature. From 1982 onwards she has been curating the Collection of Paintings, Prints and Sculptures created until 1920 at the Croatian History Museum. As Museum Advisor she catalogues the collection expertly and scientifically, takes part in choosing and cataloguing the exhibits for temporary historical exhibitions regularly put up by the Croatian History Museum. The exhibitions are accompanied by catalogues, as for example Hrvatske zemlje i Francuska revolucija<\/em> [Croatian Lands and the French Revolution<\/em>](1989), Ivan Ma\u017eurani\u0107 \u2013 ban pu\u010danin<\/em> [Ivan Ma\u017eurani\u0107 \u2013 Vice-roy Commoner<\/em>] (1990), Znamenja vlasti i \u010dasti u Hrvatskoj u 19. stolje\u0107u<\/em> [The Insignia of Power and Honour<\/em>] (1993), Godina 1848. u Hrvatskoj<\/em> [1848 in Croatia<\/em>] (1998.), Dadoh zlato za \u017eeljezo<\/em> [I Gave Gold for Iron<\/em>] (exhibition held in 2007, catalogue published in 2011) and other catalogues. She is the author of two catalogues of museum collections (Zbivanja 1848.-1849. na grafi\u010dkim listovima<\/em> [Events of 1848 and 1849 in Prints<\/em>], Croatian History Museum, 2000 and Portreti u Zbirci grafika Hrvatskog povijesnog muzeja<\/em> [Portraits in the Print Collection of the Croatian History Museum<\/em>], 2009, and several catalogues of temporary exhibitions (e.g. Ferdinand Quiquerez<\/em>, 1995, Life in the Palace<\/em>, 2004. and Images of the Great War<\/em>, 2014. She is a co-author of catalogues of temporary exhibitions Iso Kr\u0161njavi \u2013 veliki utemeljitelj, minister europskog duha<\/em> [Iso Kr\u0161njavi, the Great Founder, a Minister with a European Perspective<\/em>] 2012, and Ivan Kukuljevi\u0107 Sakcinski \u2013 za\u010detnik Hrvatskog identiteta<\/em> [Ivan Kukuljevi\u0107 Sakcinski \u2013 the Founder of Croatian Identity<\/em>] 2016, all published by the Croatian History Museum. She has participated in various exhibition projects of the museum she works at as well as of other Croatian museums, among them Hrvatski narodni preporod<\/em> [Croatian National Revival<\/em>] (1985), Isusova\u010dka ba\u0161tina u Hrvata<\/em> [Jesuit Heritage and Croats<\/em>] (1992), Barok u Hrvatskoj<\/em> [Baroque in Croatia<\/em>] (1993), Sveti trag \u2013 devetsto godina umjetnosti zagreba\u010dke nadbiskupije<\/em> [Holy Trail \u2013 900 Years of Art in the Zagreb Archbishopric<\/em>] (1994), Historicizam u Hrvatskoj<\/em> [Historicism in Croatia<\/em>] (2000), Vara\u017edinski generalat<\/em> [Vara\u017edin General Command<\/em>] (2005), Vara\u017edin pod krunom Habsburgovaca<\/em> [Vara\u017edin Under the Habsburg Crown<\/em>] (2015), Veli\u010danstveni Vranyczany<\/em> [The Magnificant Vranyczanys<\/em>] (2016).<\/p>\n

She received her Master\u2019s degree at the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb in 2003 for the master thesis Prints in 1848 and 1849<\/em>, and her Ph.D. in 2012 for the doctoral thesis The Dra\u0161kovi\u0107 Family as Commissioners and Buyers of Works of Art (A Case Study of the Trako\u0161\u0107an Castle)<\/em>. Her mentor in gaining both degrees was Professor Zvonko Makovi\u0107.<\/p>\n

Her main field of interest are portraits in paintings and prints ranging from the 17th to the 19th centuries.<\/p>\n
